Privacy policy

What we collect

When you contact us. The name, email address, phone number (if you give one), and message you submit through our contact form, so that a person can reply to you.

When you donate. Your name, email address, and billing address, along with the amount and date of your gift. We keep this to acknowledge your donation, maintain the records a charity is required to keep, and stay in touch if you want us to.

Card details: never. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number is entered on Stripe's own secure checkout page and is never transmitted to, seen by, or stored on our website. We receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded.

What we do with it

We use your information to respond to you, to process and acknowledge donations, to send you updates if you have asked for them, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with other organizations for their own marketing. We share it only with the service providers who make the foundation run — our payment processor, our email and hosting providers, our accountants and auditors — and only to the extent they need it to do that work. We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Scholarship applicants

Information about scholarship applicants and recipients is treated as confidential. We do not publish the names of the men we fund, and we do not share applicant information with donors. Records relating to substance use disorder treatment are subject to federal privacy protections, including 42 CFR Part 2, and we handle them accordingly.

Please do not include sensitive medical details in our contact form. If we need that information, we will gather it through a secure channel.

Email and communications

If we add you to an update list, every message will include a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We will never add you to a list because you donated without telling you.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and does not run third-party advertising trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, and Stripe sets cookies necessary to process a payment securely when you go to checkout.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons. Email give@monumentalrecovery.org and we will respond.

Children

Our programs serve adult men aged 18 and over. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
