The gap we close
The treatment that works is the treatment most men can't afford.
Short stays rarely hold. The programs with the best odds — extended, clinically sound, structured care measured in months rather than days — are also the ones insurance covers least and families can least afford.
So the decision gets made by a number instead of by need. A man who is ready, whose family is ready, who has one honest window open in front of him, ends up in whatever is cheapest, or in nothing at all.
Monumental Recovery Foundation exists to take that decision out of the hands of a price tag. We raise charitable dollars and put them directly toward the cost of extended care for men who cannot cover it themselves.

Funds go to the program
Scholarship dollars are paid directly to the approved treatment program on the recipient's behalf — never handed out as cash — and every award is documented.
Need decides, nothing else
Awards are made case by case on eligibility and need. Directors with any financial interest in a program are required to step out of the room and out of the vote.
The path
How a scholarship works.
Our Board is finalizing written eligibility criteria and the application process. This is the structure those criteria are built on.

A man applies, or someone applies for him
Applications come from the man himself, his family, a clinician, or a referral partner. We ask for proof of acceptance at a program, documentation of financial need, and the releases we need to help.

The Scholarship Selection Committee reviews
A committee of directors, joined by advisors with clinical, treatment, and recovery expertise, weighs eligibility, need, and fit against the program criteria the Board has adopted.

The Board approves the award
Recommendations go to the full Board for final approval. Anyone with a conflict of interest in the program under consideration is recused from the discussion and the vote.

We pay the program directly
Funds go straight to the approved treatment program, so the gift does exactly what the donor intended. Recipient information stays confidential, as federal privacy rules for substance use records require.
